Privacy Policy

This policy covers Morgan Heights Studio ("the Studio") at mhstudio.online, operated by Lone Star Tsalagi in San Antonio, Texas. It explains what we collect when you contact us or ask for a Native DNA evidence report, and what we do with it.

What we collect

Through the contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose, your message, and your IP address (used for rate limiting and spam filtering).

When you ask for an evidence report, you may send us:

• Your raw DNA file from AncestryDNA, 23andMe, FTDNA or MyHeritage
• Your GEDmatch kit number
• Your commercial ethnicity estimate and chromosome painting results
• A family tree export (FamilySearch CSV or GEDCOM)
• Kit numbers of relatives who have agreed to take part
• Records of documented Native ancestors

How we use it

• Your DNA data, kit numbers and tree are used only to produce your report.
• We do not sell, rent or trade DNA data or personal information to anyone.
• We do not upload your raw DNA file anywhere on your behalf unless you ask us to.
• Contact form details are used to reply to you.

Other people in your report

Reports necessarily mention people who share DNA with you. To protect them:

• Third-party GEDmatch matches appear by kit number only.
• Relatives appear by initials.
• No email addresses appear in any report.

Please only send a relative's kit number with their permission.

GEDmatch and reference kits

Comparisons are run on GEDmatch, and your kit there is governed by GEDmatch's own terms and privacy settings. Reference and ancient kits we use or upload are built from published research datasets such as the Allen Ancient DNA Resource, not from client data.

Service providers

Contact form messages are screened for spam by the Anthropic API before they reach our inbox. The Studio's Facebook page integration uses the Meta Pages API, governed by Meta's Privacy Policy. We use no third-party analytics, advertising networks or data brokers.

Storage and deletion

Site data is stored on DreamHost hosting. You may ask us at any time to delete your DNA file, tree, report and messages, and we will do so.

Cookies

The site sets a single session cookie used for form security. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Not medical advice, not enrollment

Reports are genealogical research. They are not a medical or diagnostic test, and they do not determine tribal membership. Enrollment is decided by each nation under its own rules.

Children

We do not knowingly accept DNA data for anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian's request.

Changes

This policy may change as the Studio's work changes. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
