This project is for people with Native American DNA who want to help build better data sets. Every kit added gives us a clearer picture of how Native ancestry connects across regions.
Member kits are compared with each other and with Indigenous reference kits on GEDmatch. The more people take part, the better we can see which segments are shared, and where those connections point geographically.
Member kits are compared with each other and with Indigenous reference kits on GEDmatch: one-to-one comparisons, the 3D Chromosome Browser, segment triangulation and Multi-Kit Analysis. Findings are reported to the project as segment positions, cM, SNP counts and kit counts.
Members are identified in project findings by kit number only. Names, emails and enrollment details are never published.
Every applicant is checked against these rules when they submit. Applications that don't meet them can't be submitted.
Summary results appear here once the project has at least three approved members, so no one can be identified from them.
